Yes, the base plot is that Batman and the Outsiders want to stop RaвЂ™s al Ghul from destroying the world as we know it. This is a compliment to Hill, and, in my opinion, one of the best compliments I can give.Д®ach of these characters has either developed in ways or brought something unique to the narrative, that has helped the story grow and shape into what it is now. ItвЂ™s a writing style that is very reminiscent of how Chris Claremont approached comics, but, perhaps, a little more focused and not quite as grand in scope. Whether it be Black Lightning, Duke, Cass, Katana вЂ“ each character has been on a bit of an individual journey throughout this run. Considering this is an ensemble cast, there have been plenty of explorations into individual character arcs as well. Now, this may seem like a lot of issues for a single story, but IвЂ™d argue that it isnвЂ™t. WeвЂ™re now 15 issues in, and weвЂ™re just now starting to wrap up the story that began in issue #1. Hill had a long-game in mind, and heвЂ™s been executing it with expert precision. What I expected to be a typical, six-issue arc before moving on to another six-issue arc turned out to be the opposite.

The work that these men have accomplished deserves so many more accolades and sales than itвЂ™s currently receiving.ДЇrom day one, Hill has created a balancing act of juggling multiple supporting characters as Batman brings together a team to confront RaвЂ™s al Ghul. Yes, there was a bit of a rocky start due to the delays and the interference of вЂњYear of the Villain,вЂќ but the title quickly gained its footing and was off to the races. Batman & the Outsiders has consistently been one of DCвЂ™s best books since its debut.
